Academic Internship Description
How would you like to go out to eat and drink for FREE and attend whatever events you would like in the area for FREE this semester?
We are searching for driven, detail-oriented content creators to produce high-quality outputs for 203local.com, @203local IG, @203localofficial FB and each of the accounts the business runs. To be a successful content creator, you should focus on appealing to consumers’ interests by creating engaging material. This is a hybrid position which will require you to travel to businesses to capture + create content and all other work will be done from Content Creator’s computer remotely. Most restaurants will be located in lower Fairfield County between Fairfield + Greenwich.
Content Creators will visit businesses and events throughout Fairfield + New Haven Counties, take video + still photography (utilizing either phone or company provided professional camera), then create blog posts and social media posts about the experience. Content Creators will also receive tickets to events in the area (concerts, festivals, etc) where they will cover the event after having creating blog + social posts leading up to the event to encourage ticket sales.
Applicants will be considered for part time or full time employment depending on available skills. The internship is unpaid and is for academic credit only.
Content Creator Responsibilities:
- Creating, writing, reviewing, editing, and updating content for website, blogs, marketing materials, and social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, and Tumblr.
- Conducting research to learn more about current trends, developments, and perceptions about current social media trends, and then contextualizing your findings.
- Assisting the creative team with the design of promotional materials in Canva
- Using social media to engage local residents, respond to questions and comments on social media, and to promote company initiatives.
- Collaborating with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
- Monitoring social media and company website metrics.
- Suggesting new businesses and/or events that locals may be interested in, outreach to businesses via social media or email to request comped visit in exchange for promotion, scheduling of media visit, attending media visit and capturing high quality content, and then posting about the business via blog + social media outlets in a timely matter.
- Post all press releases sent to outlet to blog within 1 business day.
Content Creator Requirements:
- Experience creating strong, engaging content.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing.
- Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Reliable transportation to attend arranged media visits.
- Cell phone with capability for high quality images + video.
- Availability at night time to attend media visits you arrange.
- Computer to update blog posts + website.
- Must live within Fairfield or New Haven Counties for the duration of the semester.
