Aquila’s Nest Vineyard, located in Newtown, CT, is an experience focused winery that offers visitors a selection of the finest Connecticut grown wines. The Aquila Nest name originated from the Mediterranean culture, family origins, and personal interests of the vineyard owners Neviana and Ardian. “Aquila”, latin for Eagle, connects the vineyard to Greek mythology along with representing a place of gathering for the community where visitors can share stories under the bright blue or starry sky.
After a quick 40 minute drive from Fairfield, we arrived at Aquila’s for their Llama and Wine night. This is one of the special experiences that they offer, among others, such as their wine and food tastings or karaoke nights.
Along with spending time with the llamas, we were able to experience their “Forbidden Fireplace” outdoor seating space which accommodates up to 11 guests. It was a beautiful space and was the perfect location to gather with friends and enjoy a delicious wine flight, cheese box, and wine slushies. The wine flight offered glasses of Aquila’s signature wines which include a Red Blend, Merlot, Dry Rosé, and a Dry Riesling paired with sustainably sourced crackers, nuts and chocolate.
They also offer indoor seating along with fire pits for when the weather becomes chillier. It is the perfect fall activity and an experience you can enjoy with both friends and family.
