About three weeks ago, a new chocolate shop, Bridgewater Chocolate, opened up in downtown Westport. Located at 165 Main St, Westport, CT, Bridgewater Chocolate is a great place to stop for a sweet treat. The sweet smell of chocolate fills the room as you enter, with gorgeous gift boxes lining the walls. You can browse a wide selection of chocolates from toffees to Törtéls.
Bridgewater Chocolate originally had a pop-up shop back in December before the store opened permanently in mid-September. The chocolate is Swedish and handmade. The company was founded by Erik Landegren, who moved to America and fell in love with the culture. He combined his passion for chocolate with the generous size of American chocolate to create delectable handmade treats.
The staff was very welcoming and kind. Bridgewater chocolate’s best sellers are the peanut butter patties and the peanut butter törtél. You even have the opportunity to sample some chocolate before deceiving which to buy.
