Camacho Garage is an urban oasis where authentic Mexican cuisine blends with modern elements making for an absolutely delicious combination! Immediately, we were captivated by their contemporary designs and fun urban aesthetic that let us know we were in for a treat.

Camacho Garage recently released an expanded brunch menu that utilized American ideas with an authentic Mexican twist. After seeing the chef’s creativity, we knew we had to try as much as we could! The Enmoladas De Pato (pictured below) tasted like brunch on a plate, while the Chilaquiles was a unique blend of spices that harmonized beautifully. Everything we tasted, led our taste buds through a flavorful journey that exceeded all expectations.

See some of what we tried below:

The Headhunter ~ Cazadores Cafe tequila, fresh espresso, Tippy Cow Chocolate Liquor, Scrappy’s FireWater Bitters, garnished with a ghost on a mound of vanilla whip shots

Mango Bellini

Camacho Guacamole (prepared tableside) ~ avocado, red onion, cilantro, jalapeno, lime, and tostadas

Cocktail Ceviche ~ octopus, shrimp, roasted tomato, red onion, jalapeno, avocado, lime

Enmoladas De Pato ~ blue corn tortillas,  duck carnitas, pepita mole verde, crema, cotija, and duck eggs

Chilaquiles ~ two fried eggs, fried organic corn totopos, Camacho Salsa, beans, crema, queso fresco, onion and pico de gallo. For our toppings, we chose lobster, poblano, corn, and bacon.

Churros~ caramel filling, vanilla ice cream, abuelita

Visiting Camacho Garage was an amazing experience! From our spooky and chocolatey cocktails, to the fresh guacamole made right in front of us, to the amazing brunch menu, to the churros that melted in our mouths. The service at Camacho Garage was spectacular and you can tell they are dedicated to making sure you thoroughly enjoy your dining experience. If that wasn’t enough to make you want to visit, Camacho Garage has expanded their happy hour from 12pm (open) to 6pm on Tuesday-Friday! Find out more in our interview below.

See our Q&A with Manager + Event Coordinator of Camacho Garage, Jessmarie Colon Perez, below!

Tell me a little about yourself and why you wanted to work at Camacho Garage?

“My brother actually worked here first! I was initially hired as a hostess and was a hostess for a year. Then, I got moved up to running food, and just kept moving up until I got to where I am.”

Do you know the story behind the name of Camacho Garage?

“Camacho is the last name of our chef! His name is Arturo Franco Camacho, and the theme is a garage because he grew up in a garage with his father in Mexico. He ended up taking a lot of ideas for the place, in regards to the decor and the way it looks, from Mexico and what he saw growing up!”

Can you tell me about your happy hour?

“We recently started opening at 12pm Tuesday-Sunday. Tuesday-Friday we have happy hour from open until 6pm!”

I know you guys have a new brunch menu along with a newly extended happy hour, do they go hand in hand?

“Happy was extended to bring more people into lunch and ensure people always think of us as an option! Our happy hour has very cheap but delicious stuff. We even have $6 margaritas, so it’s a really good happy hour. Our brunch recently expanded from a shorter menu. We’ve been adding more stuff like our avocado toast which is starting to get really popular.”

What would you recommend visitors try when they come to Camacho Garage?

“One of my favorites is the Tigna Tostada. It has chipotle marinated chicken with sour cream and lettuce. It is so good, really flavorful, and has a little bit of spice, but not too much. You can also never go wrong with our Geronimo Margarita.”

Do you have any fun events coming up?

“We just did a Halloween party with a costume contest which was fun. We are trying to bring back DJ’s and have more nightlife to bring back customers during the evening. It is harder for us here because we are not located in Downtown. However, a lot of people celebrate parties here and even buyout the whole restaurant. I actually am taking care of two parties here today right now!”

Do you have any new menu items or specials coming up?

“Our chef is very creative and has a creative mind. He loves to do specials and will come up with them out of nowhere. They will always be delicious and they never disappoint.
