At our 203 Popup Market, we had a few vendors that we loved seeing all season long and Indiigo Culture is one of them. They are an eco-conscious brand that puts the planet and people first.

Shop here and experience sustainable fashion with modern touches from mostly Asia-Pacific countries. Everything is hand crafted and beautiful!

1. Can you tell me the background of Indiigo Culture? What inspired your creation?

“For us, stories have always had a great power. They give shape and meaning to people and

places with different perspectives, traditions, and ways of life. We believe it is difficult to live a

meaningful and conscious life if we are unaware of the people and their stories behind the

items we use from day to day. Hence, we created Indiigo Culture to tell stories. Every piece of

clothing, accessory, and homeware we create and curate holds a unique story – focused on our philosophy of putting people and the planet first. It connects our customers with the creators, making our items more valuable and meaningful, countering the faceless and disposable consumerist mindset.

Our amazing makers and designers come from all over Southeast Asia. This collective of talents and artisans bring you beautiful everyday items with an aspect of sustainability. These items also reflect the desire to celebrate our diverse cultures and heritage as part of our modern lifestyle. Our makers and designers are excited to share the skills and traditions that go into their creations with you. We invite you to live consciously with us!”

2. How did you come up with the name “Indiigo Culture”?

“Indiigo Culture is a story of big dreams, better futures, and to share our varied roots. Our name draws deeply from our myriad of cultures, seeking inspiration from our Asian traditions.

Homage is paid to our unique cultures and different ways of life through the usage of

traditional craftsmanship, techniques, and materials in our items.”

3. What do you sell, what’s your most popular item?

“Our customer favorites are items from Oaksva! One-of-a-kind jewelry made by local craftsmen from the villages of Indonesia. Each piece is handmade with local spices such as chili flakes, turmeric, and parsley. Explore the collection here!

4. Are you looking into any new pieces for holiday gifts?

“Yes! We are welcoming a new line this season, and this will also be our very first step into

homeware! Introducing our handcrafted, fiber art collection by Beeyarnd. Each fiber wall art is

handwoven with love and care; every piece is special. We will also be launching DIY fiber art kits that will make the perfect holiday gift this season. We are taking pre-orders soon to send them out in time for Christmas. Follow our Facebook and Instagram for more info to come!”

5. Do you have any sustainable qualities of your shop?

“We believe that sustainability is a process. We partner with makers and designers who are at

any point of the journey. We simply ask that they are willing to change their mindsets and

methods. Particularly for talents at the start of this process, we incubate and nurture them

towards green and ethical progress. It can be in how the materials are sourced, the

manufacturing or development process and workplace conditions. At the core of it, our items

are made in small batches to reduce over production and waste. Every piece is carefully and

skillfully created in well run workshops, studios, and factories; always with an aspect of

sustainability.”

6. Do you have an online shop?

“Find us at https://www.indiigoculture.com/

7. Do you have any sales or promotions coming up for Black Friday?

“This holiday season, we are offering free shipping and gift wrapping on all online orders with

code HOLIDAYCHEER”

8. Which markets do you frequent/where can people find you?

“Come say hi to us at the family friendly Annual Winter Fair in North Haven Fairgrounds on

November 25 or come hang out with us at Gastro Park in West Hartford on December 2 from

11am – 3pm. Stay in touch with us by following our Facebook and Instagram for upcoming

events and pop-ups!”

9. What sets you apart from other vendors that sell similar pieces?

“All our items are carefully curated to offer customers that “special something”. Our promise is

to ensure that every item carries a point of difference and an aspect of sustainability – no two

items are the same and every item tells”
