Are you new to the town of Fairfield or just looking to become more involved within the Fairfield community? Then you should check out ConnectFairfield‘s page for events in your area! ConnectFairfield was created around 2 and a half years ago by Debbi O’Keefe. Her goal was to bring people within the community together by creating fun events that support local nonprofits. With ConnectFairfield holding over a hundred events, bringing hundreds of people together, and raising even more money for nonprofits, it is safe to say that Debbi not only reached her goal, she surpassed it.

What are some examples of events they hold?

ConnectFairfield has thrown some fabulous events in the past such as: Dueling Piano Night, Dance Parties, Mozzarella Making Classes, Night with a Medium, and Wine Swaps. While some events are free, events that charge admissions donate a percentage of their earnings  to local nonprofits and charities! That way, you can do good while feeling good too.

While making friends and getting out of your house, Connect Fairfield gives you the opportunity to dance the night away, discover a passion for cooking, and attend other fun events!

See my Q+A with Debbi O’Keefe, proud owner/founder,  for additional information below!

What made you decide to start ConnectFairfield?

“I’ve lived in this community for 25 years and I’m really passionate about the community and the people in it. I  have been involved in different organizations and really wanted to help during covid to bring people together and support businesses as well. I feel like people these days, more than ever, are looking for connections with others  and to have fun!

Could you tell me more about your history in event planning?

I originally studied hotel administration and publications. I also worked in a hotel, in the nonprofit field, and in the trade show industry for a little while organizing large events in New York City and Boston! I’ve been doing this for a long time now haha.

How have you seen it help connect people and bring people together?

I’ve always been a person that likes to bring people together. People always say I’m a natural connector. I like through events, a  lot of people have met different people and even networked. I will say though, it’s not really just networking, it’s more about finding like minded people that like to do similar things that you like. People in this community are very generous and supportive and even though it’s a big town, these events give it a small town feeling.”

About Connect Fairfield:

Debbi O’Keefe is a relationship builder. As founder of ConnectFairfield, she brings 25 years of experience planning and coordinating events with communities, businesses, social organizations, entertainment venues and educational institutions.

It was a natural  journey that led Debbi to this moment. With the pandemic closing down life as people knew it, O’Keefe recognized that when the light would appear at the end of the lockdown tunnel she wanted to help the town return to its former vibrancy. Bringing people together whether it’s for social, economic or community functions is my passion. I love the process of collaborating and partnering toward a positive experience for everyone. With enormous contacts and partnerships built over years, O’Keefe has established ConnectFairfield to do exactly that by producing, promoting and providing entertaining and meaningful events that introduce the local community to each other.

Debbi resides in Fairfield with her husband Ed and together they have two children, Emily and Evan. Debbi O’Keefe has a B.S. degree from Ithaca College in Planned Studies and Hotel Administration in conjunction with Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration
