Today we got to speak with Jessica McCormack who is the founder of Fairfield Moms and a little background about her is she is a mom of two kids named Emma, who is six and a half, and Aiden, who is three. She has been in Fairfield for ten years and she loves what she does! She is also a small business owner, so she likes to promote small businesses. When asked to describe being a mom in three words or less she said, “best job ever!”
Five years ago, in Fairfield, there wasn’t one central place where you could find all the information for events taking place during the weekend. This is how Fairfield Moms was born! Jessica McCormack saw this lack of information and decided to make a difference. Now Fairfield Moms is the main spot where people go to find out everything that is going on in Fairfield, but she doesn’t stop there! She also covers nearby towns like Trumbull, Shelton, and Easton.
The main thing that people love about Fairfield Moms is the weekend roundup. This comes out every week and talks about events for that upcoming weekend! It has both free and paid options. Fairfield Moms has become a resource to the community. Numerous people utilize her blog, Instagram, and Facebook to look for events to participate in. She doesn’t just cover events she also covers recipes, does advertisements for different businesses and nonprofits, does guides and lists like the private school guide, pumpkin patch list, and christmas tree list! If someone wishes they had something on their website or social media, she always looks into including it!
Do not let the name, Fairfield Moms, mislead you though! They are not just for moms, they have the whole family and people without kids covered! Jessica McCormack makes sure to be inclusive for everyone in the Fairfield area! Fairfield Moms cover family events, adults only events and ladies nights out! Jessica McCormack loves all events, but if she had to pick one for each category she says Taste of Fairfield for adults only, Ladies Bonfire for ladies night out, and the Easter Egg Hunt at Silverman’s Farm for families! There are many new people in the Fairfield area since covid and many people get to meet and exchange phone numbers at these events!
Upcoming event alert: Trunk or Treat! It is taking place on October 28th from 2-5pm at the Fairfield Shopping Center. The backstory on this event is that four years ago there was a storm that made it hard to trick or treat so now every Saturday before Halloween the police department, fire department, local vendors and others gather to give out candy to the kids!
