OKO is named after the dish Okonomiyaki which is a Japanese teppanyaki and savory pancake dish.
Have you heard of Omakase? Omakase is a traditional Chef’s Choice 16-course tasting menu that OKO offers nightly at both locations in Greenwich and Rye, NY. Impress your guests and friends with Chef’s best items and highly sought after personal style of Edomae sushi and Japanese inspired cuisine. Here’s what we discovered at OKO Rye:

Cedar Smoked Black Cod: crispy beets, horseradish

Salmon crispy : ponzu aioli, nori furikake

Ten Piece Chef’s Selection Nigiri

Uni Shot: cucumber – ginger ponzu, ikura

Chef’s Selection of Hand Rolls: Tuna, Scallop + Salmon

Yakitori Chef’s Selection: Chicken, Scallop + Shrimp

Fried Chicken Bao: squid caramel, black garlic aioli, napa kimchi

Can’t express enough how wonderful the service is here. We were blessed with our server Jess who was personable and very knowledgeable of the complex menu! Definitely one of the best. Say hi to her during your next visit!
A huge congratulations for being named to the Michelin Guide 2021 list of New Plate Establishments! You all deserve it!
A message from Chef Brian Lewis:
“I am thrilled to announce that OKO Rye was named to the Michelin Guide 2021 list of New Plate Establishments in New York. As a chef, to be recognized amongst such talent is an honor that one only dreams of. For those not familiar, The Michelin Plate is a symbol for a restaurant that has not yet been been awarded a star rating or Bib Gourmand, but is included in the infamous red book for having very good food and serves as almost a “watch” list with many moving up to earn a star in years to come.
As Michelin does not rate restaurants in Connecticut, this recognition is one that I proudly share with my entire team at OKO Rye, as well as OKO Westport, The Cottage Westport and, opening later this year, The Cottage Greenwich.
I could not be more proud of our accomplishments in the kitchen, and continue to be humbled by the outpouring of support in our communities.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
About OKO:
Their menu celebrates Japanese techniques and traditions with Chef Lewis’ signature culinary style; using ingredients from local farms and waters here in Connecticut and New York, throughout the US, as well as the Tsukiji fish market in Japan.
Their restaurants feature an open design flowing from the kitchen through the bar and into the dining room, creating an atmosphere where outstanding Japanese food and beverage come together.
