Rizzuto’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant is a cozy culinary gem that promises a dining experience like no other. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted by a warm and homey ambiance with their rustic decor and fireplace. One of the standout features is their commitment to freshness. They have a specific menu called “Fresh Today” that changes frequently to reflect what is locally available. On top of that, they also have their standard menu that includes many delicious options!
Here’s what we tried:
We started with the warm burrata, which was rich and creamy, served alongside roasted tomatoes and a perfectly toasted crostini. We also couldn’t resist the stuffed garlic bread, served with a flavorful marinara sauce for dipping – a comforting, cheesy start.
To complement our appetizers, we tried the chili mango margarita, packed with a spicy and sweet punch! Also, the raspberry lemon drop martini. This was a refreshingly tart and sweet cocktail that had us sipping for more.
For the main event, we could not pass up their CT-style lobster roll. The buttery lobster meat was nestled in a toasted roll and even had more butter to dip on the side. What more could you ask for? We also had the pan-roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli, all tied together by a roasted red pepper jus.
To finish off our journey, we tried their bombolini’s. They are freshly made to order, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and served with a chocolate sauce and freshly whipped cream. It was the ideal sweet ending to our meal!

Rizzuto’s Oyster Bar & Restaurant opened in 2009 in a location that for decades was a cornerstone of Westport. After a long and successful hotel management career spanning from New York to Las Vegas, and Walt Disney World to San Francisco, Bill (the owner) returned home to Connecticut and enjoyed his role as a hands-on restaurateur. After his family, Bill’s passions are food and people, and of course, salt-water fishing.
Bill’s objective was to create a comfortable, inviting place to eat and drink, featuring a daily selection of the freshest fish and seafood and simple Italian-American fare. Rizzuto’s menu highlights pristine fish brought in daily, their signature crab cakes, Westport’s best lobster roll, and the best meatballs ever. There is also a commitment to responsible dining, offering many options to fit growing dietary choices.
