They offer a full service hair salon, lash extensions, tanning, + makeup! What else could you want ladies???

The founder, Jenna Zakhour, is a humble & gracious business owner whom we had the pleasure of interviewing this week. See our conversation below:

WHAT SETS YOU ASIDE FROM OTHER HAIRSTYLISTS?

” My relationship with my clients, whether we just met or have known each other for years, we feel like sisters”

DO YOU OFFER SILENT TREATMENTS? OR VICE VERSA?
“Yes, there is an option on the website to book!”

IS YOUR TEAM ALL WOMEN?
“We have a freelancer thats a man, but it’s all women here on the daily”

DID YOU MAKE IT THIS WAY OR IT JUST HAPPENED?
” It just happened that way, we are of course open to having males on the team!”

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
“Full service hair meaning: color, cut, blonding + extensions
⁃ lashes
⁃ makeup
⁃ tanning”

ARE YOU PLANNING ON ADDING MORE? ARE THERE THINGS IN THE MAKING?
“We just added tanning yesterday, looking into brow services, Brazilian blowouts, keratin treatments + lash lifts!”

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION?
” I was an avid Hannah Montana fan and her closet I fantasized about. The design of the closet brought out my inner child and wanted everything to be pink and to pop!”

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR NAME?
” My boyfriends dad came up with the name. We wanted a chill vibe and included beauty because the salon is not just hair. Blush was pink but we didn’t want to flat out say pink in the name. That’s how we stumbled upon Blush Beauty Lounge!”

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A STYLIST?

“3 years and I got my certification from Toni + Guy in Newtown! “

WAS THIS YOUR DESIRED CAREER PATH? OR DID YOU FALL INTO IT?

“No I went to college for nursing, switched to nutrition, then became a personal trainer at the edge , didn’t like where it was, changed my major again and decided college wasn’t for me. Then I made the decision to go to hair school!”

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BLUSH BEAUTY LOUNGE?
” The aura, the vibes are great, it’s so bright, it uplifts the mood”

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE SERVICE TO PERFORM OR WHAT ARE YOU BEST AT?
” layered hair cuts, blonding, curly haircuts , textured haircuts”

IS THIS A TEACHING SALON?
“Yes, willing and able to teach new hairstylists. We also host events here often”

HOW LONG HAS BLUSH BEAUTY LOUNGE BEEN OPEN FOR? CAN YOU TELL ME A LITTLE OF THE PROCESS GETTING HERE AND OPENING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? SHARE SOME ADVICE FOR YOUNGER AUDIENCES TRYING TO DO THE SAME

” We opened in the end of may!
It was definitely a risk to take but a great one because when you’re young you can work hard for the things that you want. You’re not gonna grow where ur comfortable, have a plan and save some money to go towards your goals! “
