On Saturday, September 9, 2023, 6-9pm, Common Ground (358 Springside Ave, New
Haven) will invite guests (18 and over) to experience their urban farm oasis in an outdoor
celebration of farm to table food, music, and community. Learn more and get your tickets!
At the 16th annual Feast from the Fields guests can expect a joyous farm to table celebration with tasting dishes made by eight local chefs from around the world! Each dish served at Feast 2023 will feature Common Ground’s sustainable, regeneratively grown produce. Guests will experience vibrant live music, dancing, and community connection in a unique farm setting. This beloved gathering is Common Ground’s biggest fundraiser of the year and all
proceeds support the vital programs of their urban farm, environmental education center, and high school.
“Feast from the Fields is one of the largest farm to table events in our region. The chefs
prepare our vegetables with such care and creativity, for guests to enjoy just steps from
where they were harvested! It’s a beautiful evening grounded in relationship with the land
and each other,” says Audrey Nefores, event organizer.

3RD ANNUAL FEAST FOR FAMILIES – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1-3 PM
On Sunday, September 10, 2023, 1-3pm, Common Ground (358 Springside Ave, New Haven) will invite guests to visit their urban farm campus for a day of family- friendly, wellness focused activities for every member of the family! Learn more and get your tickets today!
At the third annual Feast for Families, guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a celebration of food, community, and sustainability. Food will be prepared using produce from our urban farm by Chef Sonia Salazar of Te Amo and Barracuda Restaurant. This year’s brand new set of activities will include making your own floral crown (using flowers grown right on Common Ground’s campus) with Pua Le’a Floral, and an ‘Intro to Hydroponics’ workshop by NerdDNA, where families can create “home grow” kits from scratch using recycled bottles. Families can also enjoy a dance fitness class, where they’ll learn African &
Caribbean-based dance moves with Common Ground’s very own staff member Amanda
Byam! Other activities include picking & making your own herbal tea with plants from the

Mission Statement:
Common Ground is a center for environmental learning and leadership located in New Haven, CT. It is a place where all members of the community can find connections to the local environment, each other, and opportunities for learning and engagement. Common Ground connects farm, forest, and city. Our urban farm includes production and educational gardens, and a variety of animals. Located at the base of West Rock Ridge, our site includes 20 acres of forest with hiking trails, wildlife, and diverse natural habitats. Within New Haven city limits, Common Ground seeks to explore urban ecology and develop paths to urban sustainability.
