Saturday, November 19th, 2022 – The Loading Dock Stamford, CT. After a two-year hiatus, Filling in the Blanks will host its third annual Plates with Purpose Gala. This chic cocktail event will transport guests into a world like no other. The elegant space sets the tone for a night of festivities. Abigail Kirsch is preparing fabulous bites, dishes, and treats for guests to dive into with special guest chef Luke Venner of Elm.
“While I didn’t grow up food insecure like so many children do, I know what food anxiety feels like.” Said chef Luke Venner. “My personal experiences have ignited a passion to ensure local children do not face the same challenges. I’m very excited to partner with Filling in the Blanks at Plates with Purpose 2022!”
Many people are unaware that thousands of children in Fairfield and Westchester Counties do not have enough to eat. Some qualify to receive breakfast and lunch at school during the week. However, over the weekend, there is often not enough, if any, food at home. Filling in the Blanks provides weekend meal bags to those children to ensure they have adequate access to food on the weekends.
Plates with Purpose aims to fundraise to support and grow Filling in the Blanks’ weekend meal program. Starting in 2013 with 50 children at one site, we’ve grown to over 4,000 children served at 90 different sites throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties. This program offers an outlet for children to sustain themselves over the weekend while schools are closed. All proceeds from Plates with Purpose go towards the weekend meal bag program.

About Filling in the Blanks
Filling in the Blanks is a 501c3 nonprofit that fights childhood hunger by providing children in need with meals on the weekends. Founded in 2013 and based in Norwalk, CT, FITB provides food weekly to 4,000 children across 90 sites throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties.
