The Stratford Housatonic Greenway & Complete Streets Committee is sponsoring a FREE & SECURE bike parking corral at the Main Street Festival on June 3rd, 2023. Come on down and join them for a fun day of biking and enjoying all the festival has to offer.
The bike parking will be open from 10AM-3:30 PM on Main Street near East Broadway, allowing time for activities and yummy food during your visit. Rest assured that your bike will be safe as you revel in the festivities. Please remember to walk your bike through the festival and stop by the SHG & ECG booth to grab FREE walking maps of TEN Stratford neighborhoods & the updated streets following the construction happening this fall.
Proceeding the festival at 4:30 PM, all cyclists are welcome to join for the THIRD Housatonic Greenway group ride of the 2023 season! Join us at Shakespeare Park on Shore Road for a ride to Short Beach, Long Beach, and the Sea Wall, followed by a return in a mostly level loop. Find the route map at their booth or on their Facebook page (Stratford Housatonic Greenway). Please remember to bring water, check your tire’s air pressure, and wear helmets (mandatory for those under 16). All are welcome, with route options of 5, 8, 10, or 12 miles. The full ride lasts approximately two hours.
