Purpose-driven agencies aim to create viral campaign to end food insecurity in the U.S.
Norwalk, CT, April 27, 2022 – The facts about food insecurity were staggering before the pandemic, and COVID-19 and rising inflation have exacerbated the injustices at their root cause. Two area marketing agencies, Inspira Marketing of Norwalk, Connecticut, and New York City-based Enthuse Marketing, teamed up with the non-profit WhyHunger to do something about it.
“We’re in a position to have a voice about things that matter and affect change,” explained Inspira CEO Jeff Snyder. “By activating our 350-strong nationwide team to take action through donations to local food banks and encouraging their networks to do the same, we can ensure that fewer people will go to bed hungry tonight.”
Inspira and Enthuse partnered with WhyHunger a global organization that provides critical resources to support grassroots movements and fuels community solutions to end hunger. In addition to a $10,000 donation to WhyHunger, the agencies kicked off a social media campaign, #FoodTag2022, to encourage donations to local food banks.
#FoodTag2022 participants simply visit WhyHunger’s online food bank locator to identify a food pantry near them. Then, they snap a photo of themselves donating food at the pantry, post the photo on social media and challenge someone to do the same by tagging them on the photo and using the #FoodTag22 hashtag.
“We’ve seen these types of challenges go viral on social media and we believe #FoodTag2022 has the potential to do the same,” said Kim Lawton CEO of Enthuse Marketing. “It’s so simple and easy to do. Everyone that participates is making an immediate impact in their community. That’s powerful!”
The initiative kicked off on April 27th and will run through May 16th.
