Unless you make a chocolate soufflé yourself, it may be pretty hard to find a GOOD one. Don’t worry though, we have you covered. Gabriele’s of Westport, has the most decadent chocolate soufflé. Considering it’s National Chocolate Soufflé you’re going to need to have a one, of course!
A soufflé is a baked dish with a flavorful base (in this case chocolate!) mixed with beaten egg whites. When it’s baked, air bubbles in the egg whites expand, puffing the soufflé up over the top of the dish.
Danny Gabriele, the owner of Gabriele’s of Westport, knew there was a great demand for a higher-end steak house, especially in lower Fairfield County. He opened the first Gabriele’s in 2011 in Greenwich. Then the second, and now only location, in Westport in late 2021.
Paul Newman, an originator of the American organic food movement, partnered with fellow farm-to-table pioneer Michel Nischan to create The Dressing Room, an outstanding rustic American restaurant on The Westport Country Playhouse property from 2006 to 2014.
Gabriele then transformed this space into his vision, now Gabriele’s of Westport. Completely remodeling from the previous restaurant, Danny turned it into exactly what it is a higher-end steakhouse. Only leaving the fireplace Newman put in. With a steakhouse vibe, but, designed so elegantly with glass chandeliers, candle-lit tables, and bright-colors all around to check off the higher-end part.
Yes, they are an American-Italian steakhouse with delicious and great quality meat. Great quality, as in, it comes with a certificate that would be presented at your table when ordered. Crazy right?! But the rest of their food is also a must-try, drinks too, of course! Options include pasta dishes, seafood (ALL types of seafood), desserts, and a wine list with enough options to pair with any food you choose. Seriously, trust us when we say their dessert game is strong!
Wednesday, March 8th, Greens Farms Spirit Shop is holding a Five Course Wine Dinner using Duckhorn Vineyards Wine at Gabrieles. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM and is $175 per person (excludes tax and gratuity) and reservations are required. Hurry and make those reservations before it fills up!
