~The Intern Series~
If you’re on a quest for fresh, vibrant, and customizable flavors, look no further than Pokémoto. What sets them apart is its commitment to customization. The concept is simple yet brilliant: you’re the chef, and you get to build your own poké bowl exactly the way you like it. From the base to the toppings, every step is an opportunity to create a unique and delicious bowl that suits your taste buds.
The process is simple: first choose your own base whether its sushi rice, salad, or even both! Then choose your protein, they have many to choose from such as salmon, tuna, shrimp, chicken and tofu. Next choose your mix-ins, options vary from mango, cucumber, to edamame. Choose your sauce next, I went with the sesame ginger! You can try the sauce beforehand to make sure you like it, which I thought was very neat. Lastly, top off your bowl with avocado, seaweed salad, crunch toppings and more. You can even create your own poké wrap if you’re not in the mood for a bowl!
Here’s what my bowl included:
- Half & half salad and rice
- Tuna
- Edamame, cucumber, and mango
- Sesame ginger sauce (sooo good)
- Pickled ginger and seaweed salad
This was a very satisfying meal, perfect when your craving something fresh!
There are many locations throughout the country so make sure to check out one nearby!
About Pokémoto:
Thomas Nguyen founded Pokémoto in New Haven, CT in 2017. While living in Hawaii, he discovered and fell in love with traditional Hawaiian poké. He realized there was a gap in the New England market which is known for amazing seafood but was missing poké. Thomas gambled on a poké bowl company in a vacant location across from Yale University and risked it all! Luckily, it was a success and the first Pokémoto shop was born!
