Taste of Mexico: A Taco Tuesday Celebration is Back at Penfield Beach!

Listed in , ,

Award winning chefs from Fairfield County’s favorite culinary destinations gather together for an unforgettable evening of food, music and hand-crafted cocktails to raise funds for the Hands Offering Hope Culinary and Hospitality Institute outside of Cancun, Mexico on Tuesday, August 29.

The event will be an intimate affair where guests will enjoy a variety of tacos, hand-crafted cocktails by a master mixologist, live music and a silent auction at the Penfield Pavilion on Penfield Beach in Fairfield. After overwhelming interest in 2023, this year’s experience has been expanded to include a curated Mezcal tasting as well as the opportunity to bid on a once in a lifetime Yucatán Culinary Experience – an exclusive 4 day / 3 night journey through Southern Mexico’s vibrant culture, stunning beauty and incredible cuisine sponsored by Hands Offering Hope’s Culinary Advisory Board.

“This annual event brings together the best culinary skill of Fairfield County,” said Scott Lawton, founder and CEO of bartaco. “We get to enjoy amazing food while being a part of creating the future for young culinary leaders who otherwise would not have a chance to succeed.”

Partnering restaurants include Barcelona, bartaco, Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, Haven Hot Chicken, Olmo, Bar Ordinary, The Cottage, The Place 2 Be, Sparrow Pizza Bar, and The Whelk. This year’s event is sponsored in part by bartaco, Sysco, CNI Brands, Pepsico, Dave’s Gourmet Paletas, Scratch Baking, and Black Hog Brewing.

Tickets are $125 per person and can be reserved at handsofferinghope.org/tacotuesday– space is limited so don’t wait! Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a $25/per person discount and can be accessed by contacting courtney@handsofferinghope.org.
