What is your favorite food item and drink on the menu?
“Favorite food would be the Korean Short Rib and favorite drink would be Hill Rock Rye Neat.
What do you love most about the staff?
“ I love the camaraderie and how the staff is super close, plus easily coachable. I don’t have to ask them to do things and they have been here since the beginning. The staff truly creates the culture for this restaurant.”
Are you working on anything new for the restaurant?
“Yes, but I can’t share at the moment, stay tuned!”
Does The Wheel have any sister restaurants or businesses?
“Yes, through Apicii which is our hospitality company. They own The Polo Bar in New York City where Beyonce came in to eat last week.”
Who’s the most famous person you’ve seen come into The Wheel?
“I have seen John Starks from the Knicks and Chevy Chase from Saturday Night Live.”
What is your passion outside of work?
“My passion is cooking and writing poetry.”
What made you get into this industry?
“I had my first job as a dishwasher at the Firehouse Deli at the age of 15. I became infatuated with the cooks and how they were building the flavors. To have someone teach me about cooking when I was so young was intoxicating. I realized I only ever wanted to be in and around the kitchen.”
Is there a new menu coming up?
“There is a fall menu coming out in early October. We can’t wait to share it with everyone”.
