Wildly Popular Wild Wine, Beer, and Food Safari to Benefit Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo Almost Sold Out!
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – May 25, 2022– After two years of supporters purchasing Wild Wine Safari boxes for a virtual at-home event, the wildly popular Wild Wine, Beer, and Food Safari is back in person! Animal lovers, wine and beer aficionados, and food connoisseurs from near and far will gather in an exotic atmosphere for the annual “Wild Wine, Beer, and Food Safari” benefitting Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM (rain or shine). The evening will include live entertainment from The Navels on the stage at our Peacock Pavilion as well as a fabulous silent auction. “This event sells out every year and it’s easy to understand why. What could be better than enjoying the Zoo on a beautiful early summer night while sampling food, wine, and beer, with live music and animals on exhibit?” asked Gregg Dancho, zoo director. “A special thank you to all of our sponsors who make this an unforgettable evening each year.”
Hosted by Turnpike Spirit Shop of Fairfield, guests will enjoy sampling dozens of different wine and beer selections. This expedition of taste will feature delectable fare from local restaurants and caterers such as: Blue + Berries; BRYAC; Dave Grant Caterers; Foccacia’s Café; Fortuna’s Catering; Hardcore Cupcakes; Hub & Spoke; Little Pub; Open Door Tea; Texas Roadhouse – Danbury; The Blind Rhino; and Vazzy’s.
Tickets are $90 each for groups of four or more, $100 for individual tickets, and may be purchased online at www.beardsleyzoo.org. Tickets also may be purchased at the door for $100 per person, if available.
A VIP Cocktail Reception will be hosted from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and includes cocktail tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and a special animal program. VIP tickets are available at $150 each.

Let your curiosity run wild! Connecticut’s only zoo, celebrating its 100thth year, features 350 animals representing primarily North and South American and Northern Asian species. Guests won’t want to miss our Amur tigers and leopards, maned wolves, and Mexican gray wolves and red wolves. Other highlights include our Spider Monkey Habitat, the prairie dog exhibit, and the Pampas Plain with Giant anteaters and Chacoan peccaries. Guests can grab a bite from the Peacock Café and eat in the Picnic Grove. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is a non-profit organization celebrating its Centennial year when the mission of helping fragile wildlife populations and eco-systems is more important than ever.
Tickets must be purchased on the Zoo’s website at beardsleyzoo.org: we recommend that guests continue to wear masks while visiting the Zoo, but when guests are outside and are able to maintain social distance, masks may be removed. In any indoor area, or when social distancing cannot be maintained, masks are required. Everyone over the age of two, except for those with medical conditions that preclude wearing them, should have a mask available.
