Your Guide to the Best Espresso Martinis in the 203!

Listed in , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We are espresso martini lovers and these will definitely satisfy those cravings. Whether it’s the first drink of the night or your last, this list will get you to where you’re going. Let’s get something straight, Baileys or no Baileys?

We are team Baileys, we like cream in our coffee and a bit of sweetness. But, since we know the love is divided, we have added a couple places that make great classic espresso martinis without the cream! These are in no order, we have equal love for them all!

So, without further ado… here are the best places to get espresso martinis in the 203 area.

STAMFORD

ZAZA Gastro Bar- Stamford, CT

Zaza has a secret recipe for their espresso martinis that makes them taste so good! It’s creamy and comes layered like this:

We paired it perfectly with the fettuccine bolognese. Zaza also has the biggest espresso martini we’ve seen. It comes in a coupe glass with cinnamon sprinkled on top! All parts of the drink are layered too.

About ZAZA: Since its opening in 2011 ZAZA Italian Gastrobar has had one mission: To provide the best Gastrobar experience in Fairfield County. ZAZA isn’t just a bar or a kitchen – it’s an amazing bar and an amazing kitchen. Sit down in their vibrant, exciting dining room with a true Roman look and order from our menu. Enjoy Napoletana style pizza, classico Italian dishes, pasta, paninis, salads and our favorite and well-loved tapas! Conveniently located on the corner of Broad Street in Stamford, ZAZA is the perfect place to enjoy an intimate outing, family meal, corporate event or special celebration!

Quartiere- Stamford, CT

The Q’s espresso martinis are so near and dear to our hearts because on Thursday nights, they’re only $8 for ladies night! Even if you aren’t a lady.. They are still 8 dollars. Unbeatable!

We had the opportunity of trying their pumpkin spice espresso martini and oh my god was it good. Get it while it’s available! They run out fast, the ingredients are all homemade!

About Quartiere:

Quartiere (pronounced kwa-ti-eeray) translates literally to neighborhood. They aim to be THE neighborhood place for great food in a charming environment, but most importantly, they want to offer the best hospitality possible. Their mantra is everyone leaves happy.  Of course, they recognize that is a high aspiration and it’s not always possible, but they’ll do their damnedest to try.

They are a small (but perfectly formed) restaurant that was designed to be a neighborhood place ideal for a date night.  After trying to accommodate families for the first couple of years, it has become evident they need to be an adult only venue.  It’s more about date night than play date.

They are incredibly proud of their food and handcrafted cocktails.Their pizza dough is made daily from a blend of imported Italian flours, fresh yeast, water and salt (none of the unnecessary stuff like oils or sugars).  They mix it in an Italian mixer then it proofs for at least 24 hours.  It’s hard work, but worth it. They even have an insanely good gluten-free dough.

They make their own fresh pasta on site daily (they’ll even sell it to you by the lb to take home and cook should you wish).  In essence, they are proud of their scratch kitchen: from the salad dressings to the meatballs to the soups.  Made in-house is just better!

Their mixologists create some crazy good drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), so swing by, raise your glass and say cin cin!

They term it ‘Elevated Casual’.  What do they mean by that? Well, they are a casual food restaurant, they sell their delicious food at super-affordable prices but you get to dine in a very elegant setting that wouldn’t be out of place in a Manhattan neighborhood.

NORWALK

Greer Southern Table – Norwalk, CT

Our server Brian at Greer Southern Table recommended we tried their espresso martini with Rumchata instead of Baileys and it was a game changer. We have been obsessed ever since. Definitely give it a try, it gives it a cinnamon finish!

About Greer Southern Table:

“Come, Sit, Eat!

These three simple comforting words are at the heart of Greer Southern Table.

They call themselves a southern table; a place to enjoy casual yet refined low & high country cuisine– where you’re treated like family and can seek respite from the world in a relaxed, fun and comfortable atmosphere. “The Table” being where so much occurs, from celebrations to business deals. They eat, drink and break bread at the table. They share stories of laughter and tears. They toast to yesterday, today and to the future – all at the table. A place where everyone comes together after a long day or week and spends time with each other to connect.

“Greer is not only my birth name but it happens to be a small quintessential southern American town that’s located in the northwest corner of South Carolina. A small town with a perfect city center that holds onto nostalgia with all of its charm, while embracing community. I suppose there’s a few different versions out there of how I came to have a name like Greer Peaches Fredericks…My brother may have an entirely different tale than I do, but perhaps this is a debate better left for the fire pit and some cold beers – another time!”

Greer is the heart of the South, where the cosmopolitan north meets the highways and byways of the history drenched deep south. It’s so much more than a name, or a city – it’s a crossroads with only a short drive to the border of North Carolina’s “High Country” – the Appalachian & Blue Ridge Mountains. The same distance to the east will bring you to the beautiful Outer Banks, a little ways south you’ll hit Charleston & Savannah and just west is Birmingham and the Great Mississippi.

As for their food? Fabulously fresh, locally & southern sourced, lovingly prepared.

You’ll find all of your southern favorites, from their delicious shrimp & grits to their award winning fried chicken.

And let’s not forget about that southern hospitality! So, when you see them pull chairs, hold doors, say please and thank you AND cater to your every whim, chalk it up to their firm belief in good ‘ol southern manners!

Whether you’re looking to experience a memorable meal among friends or sip on a cocktail or two from our more than magnificent bar, they’re here for you.

May their food fill your bellies and their service warm your hearts.

“Come on in, and welcome home!” – Greer, owner of Greer Southern Table
